Employment Pass (EP) for Professional Employees and Entrepreneurs
Employment Pass allows foreign professionals to establish a company and reside in Singapore. There are 3 different types of employment passes namely: P1, P2 and Q1 Pass. Q1 pass is applicable for applicants earning a fixed salary of more than 2,500 SGD per month. Applicants who earn more than 3,500 SGD per month is eligibile for P2 Pass. P1 Pass is applicable for applicants earning a fixed salary of more than 7,000 SGD per month.
Employment Pass (EP) Eligibility Requirements
Employment Pass applicants are assessed based on their qualification, age, declared income and their job title in the company.
The minimum requirements for Employment Pass (EP) consist of the following:
- Fixed salary or more than 2,500 SGD per month
- Normally a tertiary level qualification from an accredited university is required. However, your strong professional work experience and good salary may compensate for the lack of good education background.
- If you have strong educational background, your employment history will play a lesser role.
Possessing a recognised qualification does not automatically guarantee a successful EP application, as the applicant may need to satisfy other criteria such as relevant work experience or professional skills.
Ministry of Manpower (MOM) process Employment Pass (EP) application within one to seven working days.
